L’artiste peintre Balazs BUDA cherche constamment à saisir le « Beau »; et à ne saisir que le beau, dans la vie.
Il le trouve partout, dans tout ce qui l'entoure : les personnes, la nature, l'environnement ; et il les fait partager au moyen de son art.
Né dans une famille de scientifiques, son intérêt se tourne rapidement vers les disciplines de la vie, puis, très tôt, il éprouve le besoin de ne pas seulement "étudier" cette vie, mais de l'exprimer, l'incarner et, aussi, de la faire parler.
Sa formation de professeur de Biologie et des Arts démontre clairement cette volonté double. Il enseigne ces deux matières, dans des écoles de Hongrie et de France puis effectue une parenthèse de quelques années dans le monde de la Mode à Paris. Suite à cela, il se consacre entièrement à la peinture.
Ces tableaux sont peints avec la technique traditionnelle de la peinture à l'huile. Il saisit les sujets bien connus, qu'il s'agisse des portraits, des objets, ou des paysages, avec un regard différent et avec une touche bien à lui.
Ces œuvres ne font jamais partie d'une série ou d'une suite, car il considère chacune d'entre elles comme unique, leur réalisation demandant une approche différente. La création est toujours une lutte d‘expression mais en même temps, un apprentissage de l’exécution et de la nature intrinsèque des choses.
Il est à l’origine d’une technique, la Peinture-Tenture, qu’il a lui-même inventée et il travaille à son développement depuis les années 1990. Cette technique allie la peinture à l’huile à la tridimensionnalité du textile. Cet attachement au « fil », au textile, à la broderie, vient sans doute de ses origines hongroises, à mi-chemin entre l'éclat oriental et la broderie folklorique.
Il est sans cesse à la recherche de nouveaux défis artistiques, tant dans la technique que dans l’expression elle-même. Ses œuvres à l’huile évoluent avec une palette toujours plus élargie, sa maîtrise de la technique lui permet d'étendre ses sujets vers de nouvelles directions, quand à ses Peintures-Tentures, elles lui proposent des perspectives encore inexploitées dans l’art contemporain.

Born into a family of scientists, his interest quickly turned to the sciences of life and, early on, he felt the need to not only "study" this life, but express, embody and also make it speak. His Teacher Training of Fine Arts and Biology, clearly demonstrates that double will. He teaches both disciplines in schools in Hungary and France, then he makes a break of a few years in the world of fashion in Paris. After this, he devoted himself entirely to painting.
His works are painted with the traditional technique of oil painting. He grabbed all the well-known subjects, be it portraits, objects or landscapes, with a different look and a good touch of his own. These works are never part of a serie or sequence, because he considers each painting as unique, their realization requires a different approach. Creation is always a struggle of expression, but at the same time a learning of technique and the intrinsic nature of things.
Balazs Buda is at the origin of a technique, the Painting-Tapestry, which he himself invented and he's working on its development since 1990. This technique combines oil painting to the three-dimensionality of the textile. This attachment to "wire", textiles, embroidery, probably comes from his Hungarian origins, midway between the oriental glow and folk embroidery. He is constantly in search of new artistic challenges, both in the art, that in the expression itself. His works in oil evolve with ever wider palette, his mastery of the technique allows him to extend his subjects in new directions, when his Paintings of Tapestry offers him still unexploited prospects in contemporary art.
Buda Balázs festőművész szűntelenül az "élet szépségét" próbálja megragadni vásznain, és csakis a szépet. Minden ami körülveszi őt témául szolgálhat ehhez: az emberek, a természet, a környezet tárgyai. Mindezt sajatos művészi ábrázolásán keresztül osztja meg másokkal. Tudományos érdeklődésű családba született, így logikus volt, hogy korán a természet került figyelmének központjába. Hamar megérezte azonban, hogy az élet mikéntjét nem csak tanulmányozni kell, hanem azt ki is kell fejezni, megtestesíteni annak minden nagyszerűségét, szóra bírni szépségét. Biológia és rajz tanári diplomája egyértelműen mutatja ezt a kettős akaratot, vonzalmat. Mindkét szakát tanította magyar és francia iskolákban, majd néhány évet párizsi divatvilágban töltött. Ezt követően kizárólag a festészetnek szentelte idejét. 1988 óta Franciaországban él és alkot. A párizsi Commission de la Professionnalité 1995-ben engedélyezi a "festőművész" cím használatát . Festményei javarészt a hagyományos olajfestés technikájával készülnek. A jól ismert témák lényegét ragadja meg, legyen az portré, csendélet vagy tájkép, a hagyományostól eltérő felfogással, egyéni ecstekezeléssel. Művei sosem egy sorozat részei, számára, mindegyik festmény egyedi, megvalósításuk más-más megközelítést igényel. Az alkotás egyszersmind küzdelem is számára a művészi megjelenítés tekintetében, de ugyanakkor technikailag is, hogy a formák felszíne alatt a dolgok belső lényegét is ecsetvégre kaphassa. Kidolgozta az "Olajkárpit" egyéni technikáját, amelyet ő maga talált fel, és ennek kifejlesztésén 1990 óta dolgozik. Ez a sajátos technika az olajfestményt ötvözi a háromdimenziós a textillel. A "fonalhoz", textilhez, a míves hímzéshez való vonzódása, a magyar népművészet szeretetében gyökerezik. Folyamatosan keresi az új művészi kihívásokat, mind a technikában, mind magában a kifejezésmódban. Olajfestményei egyre szélesebb skálán mozognak, kiforrott technikája lehetővé teszi számára, hogy témáit új irányokba vezesse, Olajkárpitjai pedig a kortárs művészet eddig kiaknázatlan területei felé nyitnak alkotó munkájában újabb kilátásokat .
